Empowering a Brighter Future through Literacy
Literacy Launchpad Project is a nonprofit dedicated to helping students in grades 1 through 12 who face challenges in meeting literacy standards. We support families experiencing financial hardships, students struggling to read at grade level, and those with medical conditions that hinder their ability to achieve literacy goals. Our mission is to provide the resources, support, and opportunities necessary for every child to thrive academically and discover the power of reading.
Statewide assessments show only around 46% of third graders meet or exceed state reading benchmarks.
The pandemic caused widespread learning loss, with only 28% of Oregon’s 8th grade students considered Proficient in reading, compared to 34% pre-pandemic
Our Mission and Vision
At The Literacy Launchpad, our mission is to provide children in under-resourced communities with the literacy support they need to thrive in school and beyond. We believe that access to quality education and books is a fundamental right for every child. Our vision is a world where all children are empowered through literacy to pursue their dreams, break the cycle of poverty, and contribute positively to society.
We aim to provide scholarships for children who are struggling to meet grade level reading proficiency. Through community engagement, personalized tutoring, and access to diverse reading materials, our hope is to provide the resources necessary for children to reach their full potential.
